EEP at African Utility Week in Cape Town, 16-18 May 2017

African Utility Week 2017 in Cape Town is approaching and EEP ECO and several EEP project developers will be actively participating in the AUW programme. Check out the most interesting pieces of the expo and conference agenda, and mark your calendar to meet us at the EEP Coffee Hour!

EEP projects in the AUW Programme:

Project Developers such as 5 star stoves, Afritech, CEFA, LivelyHoods and Mean Sea Level are presenting in various conference streams, Technical Workshops and Innovation Hub of the AUW. EEP Programme Director will also be a moderator in one of the conference streams.

EEP Coffee Hour at AUW:

EEP would like to invite all Project Developers participating in the AUW for a cup of coffee together on Tuesday 16 May between 11.30 and 13.00 at CTICC. If you are able to attend, please send an email to eep.eco@kpmg.fi, and we’ll send you more information closer to the date.

AUW Industry Awards:

The shortlists for the prestigious Industry Awards at the African Utility Week have been announced. We are very pleased to inform that four EEP projects / project developers and the EEP Programme Director have been shortlisted for an award.

For the Young Energy Leader Award Samir Ibrahim, CEO & Co-Founder, SunCulture Kenya has been shortlisted.

For the Small-Scale Sustainable Energy Project three out of six nominees are EEP grantees, namely:

  • Off-Grid Pay-as-you-go Solar Home Systems, Mobisol, East Africa
  • Kwa Mtoro, E.ON Off-Grid Solutions GmbH / Rafiki Power, Tanzania
  • PayGo Solar Home Systems, Azuri Technologies, Kenya

Furthermore the EEP Programme Director Wim Jonker Klunne has been shortlisted for a Lifetime Achievement Award.
