The project aligned energy-lending with enterprise/business development programs that require energy technology to enhance productive uses or income-generating activities. Camco designed “productive-use” technology packages that include both the energy technology or service and complementary equipment and appliances to serve the microenterprises, and work with Baringo SACCO to develop suitable financing packages for these. Credible local suppliers of energy products and services were sourced, the cost-benefit analysis of the systems assessed and viable financing packages developed and provided by the SACCO.
