Biogas For Schools – Towards Energy Self-Sufficient Schools

To meet the expected demand, and in the context of providing a devolved, sustainable energy supply for the institutions and schools in Kenya is the potential of biogas; the gas created as a product of anaerobic digestion of organic materials. The proposal to construction Biogas plants for schools was based on a number of broad objectives as follows: to scale up the current global efforts to reduce strain on eco-system; to improve livelihoods by increase of revenue from saved firewood budget; and to provide a model energy vehicle for replication in both national and regional levels
