This project set up solar hybrid mini-grids for rural electrification at Manda Island, Tanzania (originally at two villages in Burundi). It aimed to implement a pilot project under PPP basis to install a mini-grid system for energy generation, distribution and set up of a concessionaire service management model supported by a local community involvement programme.
