Commercialisation to Bankability of the SunCulture Solar Irrigation Kit Distribution Business Model

SunCulture represents innovation through internally designed solar photo voltaic irrigation systems for plots up to several acres in size, combined with agricultural extension services that make it cheaper and easier for small holder farmers in Kenya to grow high‐value horticulture. The company’s drip irrigation systems consistently and reliably deliver water and other inputs directly to crop roots, resulting in dramatic yield gains and water savings over current standard practices thereby improving smallholder farmer incomes.

This project will result in direct access of over 450 small holder farmers to SunCulture’s systems through system sales to farmers. The project is designed to bridge the company’s funding needs to take it to commercial bankability in 2016 by meeting early stage growth funding needs.
