EEP Africa Knowledge Week 2026 Programme

EEP Africa Knowledge Week 2026 Programme

EEP Africa Knowledge Week is a dynamic three-day series of online events exploring emerging trends, entrepreneurial insights, and groundbreaking innovations in the clean energy sector across Southern and Eastern Africa. From February 10–12, 2026 (14:00–15:30 GMT+2 daily), industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders will come together to discuss key challenges and opportunities shaping the sector.

Each session offers a unique perspective — from scaling charging infrastructure for e-mobility to unveiling EEP Africa’s latest Call for Proposals and celebrating the Project of the Year and Rising Energy Leaders. The week concludes with an eye-opening discussion to explore practical applications of AI and digital tools for the clean energy sector.

Scaling Charging Infrastructure for E-mobility in Africa

Tuesday, 10 February 2026 at 14:00-15:30 GMT+2

Scaling Charging Infrastructure for E-mobility in Africa

Reliable, accessible, and interoperable charging infrastructure is a critical foundation for Africa’s fast-growing electric mobility sector. Yet operators across the continent continue to grapple with fragmented charging networks, limited grid readiness, evolving business models, and the need for customer trust and safety. As countries begin to formalize policies to accelerate EV adoption, innovators are developing solutions, from solar-powered charging hubs and battery swap networks to SaaS tools for battery performance and grid-smart charging, that demonstrate what scalable, context-appropriate infrastructure can look like.

This session convenes e‑mobility companies, utilities, investors, and industry bodies to examine the key barriers and emerging pathways for building dependable charging ecosystems. Through showcases and targeted panel discussion, we will explore practical lessons from active markets, highlight technical and commercial innovations, and identify actionable steps to advance interoperability and investment across Africa’s e‑mobility landscape.

Digitalisation & AI for Clean Energy Access

Thursday, 12 February 2026 at 14:00-15:30 GMT+2

Digitalisation & AI for Clean Energy Access

Digital technologies, from artificial intelligence and real-time data analytics to IoT sensors and digital finance, are transforming how clean energy solutions are designed, delivered, and scaled across Africa. Companies are increasingly leveraging data-driven tools to optimise system performance, improve demand forecasting, streamline customer management, and strengthen the commercial viability of distributed energy models. At the same time, innovators face critical challenges around interoperability, data governance, connectivity, and the skills needed to deploy advanced digital systems responsibly and effectively.

This session brings together EEP Africa portfolio companies, ecosystem partners, and digital innovation leaders to explore practical applications of AI and digital tools in the clean energy sector. Through real-world examples and moderated discussion, we will unpack what digitalisation looks like in practice, where it delivers the most value, and what enablers are required for the next wave of innovation.
