Greenfoot Africa is a pioneering clean transportation company based in Arusha, Tanzania. The company’s mission is to accelerate Africa's transition to sustainable urban logistics by developing and providing tools that help individuals and businesses transport goods in a reliable, cost-effective way, and good for the environment. Founded in 2019, Greenfoot Africa officially launched in January 2021 with a proof-of-concept offering last-mile logistics service in Arusha using electric motorbikes.

Project Description

Greenfoot Africa’s ZELO Platform integrates electric cargo bikes with smart fleet management software to deliver clean, cost-effective last-mile logistics in Arusha. The project will deploy 30 e-cargo bikes, establish 3 solar-powered charging hubs, and connect 90 local businesses, while enabling route optimization and rider-job matching.

Outcome and Impact

✅ 30 electric cargo bikes deployed
✅ 3 solar-powered charging stations installed
✅ 35 new jobs — all for youth, with enhanced female leadership
