EEP Africa strives to provide companies with tools and resources to help them succeed in the challenging and rapidly evolving clean energy sector in Africa. Project Guidelines

EEP Africa provides guidance to its portfolio companies during the planning and implementation of their projects. Guidelines on project administration, financial management, branding and marking can be found here.


E-waste Toolkit

EEP Africa, in partnership with CLASP, has compiled a set of resources to support companies overcome many of the barriers to e-waste management and recycling in East and Southern Africa. In this toolkit, project developers will find best practices for off-grid solar e-waste management, resources on local legislation, and recommendations for recycling services.

Sector Events

The SEforALL Forum  (17-19 May 2022) is a landmark global gathering that brings people together to take stock of progress, showcase success and identify solutions to achieve faster, broader gains towards sustainable energy for all. It serves as a platform to broker new partnerships, spur investment, address challenges and drive action towards realizing SDG7 and a global clean energy transition. Enlit Africa (7 – 9 June 2022), formerly African Utility Week and POWERGEN Africa, is the leading platform that gathers Africa’s power, energy and water community for 365-days a year to meet and inspire each other. The community will come together for three days in a hybrid format in Cape Town in 2022. Learn more here.

The Africa Energy Forum (21-24 June 2022) is a hybrid event that will be held in Brussels under the theme ‘Africa for Africa: Building Energy for the Just Transition’, before starting our journey to Nairobi, Kenya, the 25th Africa Energy Forum will be hosted. The event will unite governments, utilities and regulators with development finance institutions, commercial banks, power developers, technology providers, EPCs and professional services. ARE Energy Access Investment Forum 2022 (28-30 June 2022) taking place in Dar es Salaam Tanzania. EAIF is the top annual business and finance event for the renewable electrification sector, convening private and public financiers, energy and climate investors, development finance institutions, international funding partners, government officials and private sector companies with the goal to boost clean electricity access globally. EAIF 2022 will be held in-person and upon invitation only in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania on 28-30 June 2022. Clean Cooking Forum (11-13 October 2022) taking place in Accra, Ghana, is the clean cooking sector’s flagship event. Join the Clean Cooking Alliance (CCA) and the Government of Ghana at the event which will convene global leaders to pave the way for much needed action. Join policymakers, entrepreneurs, investors, donors, and other key partners to help bring clean cooking to the billions who live without it. Learn more here. 

Global Off-Grid Solar Forum and Expo (18-20 October 2022) in Kigali, Rwanda hosted by GOGLA and The World Bank Group’s Lighting Global Program. The 7th edition of this event is the premier meeting of the off-grid solar sector providing a unique platform for knowledge exchange, networking and showcasing off-grid solar products and services.
