Upscaling Simgas Rural Biogas Digester Distribution in Kenya

SimGas proposed to develop a decentralized marketing approach to access the rural customer base in Kenya. This consisted of setting up hub-offices in 10 areas with high demand/potential for biogas and developing a distribution network of 30 franchises around these hubs.

 

Outcome and Impact:

As a result of this project, carbon emissions were reduced by 6,379 tCO2eq annually. The project reached 518 rural households and directly created jobsĀ  for 56 full time employees. Renewable energy substituted 9,326 MWh during the first year.
