SHARED SOLAR COLD ROOMS FOR SAFE FOOD STORAGE

This project planned to provide solar-powered cold storage for fish traders at Lake Victoria, by installing a prefabricated and insulated solar-powered container with the capacity to store 20 tonnes of fish in Mwanza, Tanzania. The project’s aim was to reduce post-harvest loss by 60% and to promote a circular economy through recycling and wastewater treatment options. The project was unable to raise sufficient co-financing, and therefore did not complete their planned activities.
