M-Power: Community Access Energy Hubs

The project was a part of Off.Grid:Electric’s larger effort to scale-up its M-POWER solar home systems service by establishing M-POWER hubs that will serve a further 10,000 households.

Outcome and Impact:

Off Grid Electric estimated that the company’s actively deployed systems as of 30 April 2014 would displace a total of 4.7 tons of CO2 per year. During the project period, the company registered 17,041 new households meaning the project has directly reached 85,205 new people. The estimated net benefit per household is $195 per year. They have created direct jobs for 269 M-POWER agents at 96 service points.
